After spending fifteen years away, we made the decision to move back to Shropshire to raise our young family where we grew up, close to the people we love.

Finding the right property meant a three and a half hour round trip for every viewing. Factor in full time jobs and a young family to manage around it all, and it was an incredibly stressful time.

We arrived at one home to find the seller had been given the wrong time by an agent who hadn't bothered to show up. At another, the agent spent the entire viewing talking about his holiday. He never once mentioned the water dripping through the ceiling.

When we found the right property we were told three to four months to completion. Six weeks in, the timeline became nine months. The current owners were moving overseas. The agent had known all along and said nothing.

What followed fell entirely on us. Chasing the solicitors. Chasing the surveyors. Chasing for updates that never came unprompted. We kept asking the same question, time and time again.
